The CHI Brass Jacobs 1 Mouthpiece
The CHI Brass Jacobs 1 is a U.S. copy of the very first Helleberg mouthpiece Arnold Jacobs ever purchased as a student. This mouthpiece holds a special place in history, as it was the one Jacobs used more than any other throughout his illustrious career. He valued it so much that, in the 1980s, he commissioned two copies stamped "Arnold Jacobs 1." Today, these copies are owned by the author of Arnold Jacobs: Song and Wind.
This iconic mouthpiece was thought to have been lost in the early 1990s but recently resurfaced. It was given to CHI Brass by a prominent student of Jacobs, following a fascinating series of events too lengthy to detail here. Remarkably, the mouthpiece measures and plays identically to the two earlier copies, enabling CHI Brass to bring this historic design to tubists everywhere.
Experience the legacy of Arnold Jacobs with the CHI Brass Jacobs 1 mouthpiece, now available to all tubists through Rose City Instruments.
