Original lead-pipes from Meinl-Weston, B & S, Yamaha, Eastman, and Miraphone were utilized in this process. The exact matching of the mouthpiece, instrument receiver, and leadpipe is crucial to achieving the correct response from modern tubas.

This new mouthpiece, designed by Aaron Tindall, is intended for use in all CC tubas. It features a deep Helleberg-style design with slightly straighter sides than the AT2U, blending into a concave cup. The rim, designed by Warren Deck, is one of the most comfortable on the market, offering just the right amount of width and bite to ensure comfort and stability.
